A welcoming community that celebrates God’s love in the Good News of Jesus Christ by serving the individual, the church, and our world through creative worship, spiritual growth, and nurturing fellowship. "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some." – Hebrews 10

No bible knowledge necessary! Come study the scriptures lead by Rev. Tina. The group decides what texts we study. Sometimes we follow what is being done in worship. Other times we have gone out of the Bible and studied books not included in our canon.

To get involved with our adult music ministries, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Our praise band meets on Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. and our First Church Choir meets on Thursdays at 7:15 p.m.
in addition to our informal groups there are a variety of ways to serve God formally within the church. There are leadership positions and formal committees.
The Deacons care for the spiritual needs of the congregation. They assist the minister with preparations for worship and administering the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism.
The Music Committee along with the Minister and the Director of Music are instrumental in the music ministry of the congregation. They assist with planning, organizing worship services and special events as well as projects that pertain to the music department. Currently there are Adult and Junior Choirs, a Praise Band, and a seasonal Bell Choir.
Connections keeps the church family “connected”. They help new members become a part of the fellowship of the community and encourage participation among members. If you enjoy being around people and planning social gatherings this is group for you!
Vitality gets the word out about our Faith Community. This group helps to share the Good News and let others know WE CARE and GOD’S LOVE IS FOR ALL!
Finance is our ministry team that guides the church in financial matters ensuring we are faithful stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us. Through prayer and discernment this team makes recommendations to the congregation on how to best use our funds. Then it is up to the congregation as a whole to discern how the Spirit of God is calling us to use these resources.
The “fixers” and building keepers. This team are stewards of our real estate, buildings and grounds and physical equipment of the church. They keep the 200+ year old building in fine working order so that it can be a sanctuary and safe haven enabling all to come a welcoming, holy place of worship.
The Stewardship Committee works to educate the congregation on the importance of being good stewards of our earthly resources. As a community we are in covenant with one another and promise our time, talents and treasures. The Stewardship Committee helps the congregation live into its covenant and provides resources and opportunities for furthering God’s call for the church and how we as a community can support that mission.
This ministry team along with the Minister of Faith Formation guide the congregation in creating building blocks for faith development. The Committee seeks to model faith to our young people, create successful experiences for them, including culture of change and of course education.
The Outreach Committee is responsible for keeping the church informed of social justice issues and of the church’s wider ministries. This ministry team also helps facilitate mission opportunities for the community in which to become involved. The team listens for the wider community’s needs and where God is calling us as a church to respond.
The Strategic Planning Committee is charged with thinking ahead and listening to God.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” ~1 Peter 4:10
Putting our Faith In Action is an important part of who we are here at First Church. We put our faith in action through our SERVICE SUNDAYS, held on the Fifth Sunday of the month (roughly four a year). On these Sundays we meet for a devotional at our regular worship time and then together as a community complete a service project together as a community.
We put our Faith In Action through our community wide Winter Soup Lunches. Offered once a week every January and February, everyone is welcome to join us for a FREE soup lunch. It is a great time of fellowship; filling hearts, minds, and souls.
Below are just a few of the organizations we partner with regularly. Please check out our events page for upcoming service activities.
