Muddy Church

A monthly journey of faith, growing in understanding of God, developing and being encouraged into deeper relationship with God through informal reflection, natural liturgy and accompanying.Muddy Church offers a space where whole families can come together, friends can meet up, those alone can walk with others, where people are invited to share their questions and lives. Each gathering will offer a theme, scripture or other texts, learning about creation, and hands-on activities.
Join First Church leaders Mary Beers and Rev. Jennie on the first Sunday of the month at 4:00pm. Rain or shine, dress for the weather and getting close to the earth; hiking/walking shoes & long pants tucked into socks are recommended. Youngsters – please bring a grownup with you. Others – come alone or bring a friend. Bring your family! Bring your open heart and sense of awe!
On September 5, we will gather with people of all ages and stages at Shawme Crowell State Park at 4:00pm. Follow these directions to the meeting place: drive in the main road past the check in and drive about 1/2 mile. Then take a right on Bayview Rd. Follow it down a steep paved section and park in sandy area to the side of the gate. Wear outdoor gear for the weather. Long pants tucked into socks are recommended. Don’t forget bug spray & a water bottle!
