Crop Hunger Walk 2025

CROP (Christian Rural Overseas Program) is a movement by Church World Services (CWS) to raise funds to end hunger both globally and locally. No one in this world should be hungry. The CROP Hunger Walk is 55 years strong, made up of compassionate people in over 500 communities in the U.S that walk on the same day. The steps we take– and the funds we raise together– will provide lifesaving food and resources.

Ending Hunger One Step At A Time

First Church is sponsoring a Team to walk in Sandwich on Sunday, October 12th, recruiting any walkers from the neighborhood. The walk route will begin and end at First Church and meander through our lovely town. There is also a full 10k Walk in Wellfleet the same day. Families and friends with children and dogs are encouraged to participate in this fun event. Once registered, walkers are provided with resources to easily solicit donations. Our goal is to raise $1000 which will garner a $1000 matching challenge. 25% of the proceeds are earmarked for the Cape Cod Council of Churches, Lower Cape Outreach Council and the Wellfleet Food Pantry. The remainder of the donations are distributed globally by CWS.
