Kathy Gernhardt

In October 2016, Kathy Jo Gernhardt became the Organist/Pianist for First Church Sandwich.  With over six years as the Worship Director at Beechwood Congregation Church in Cohasset and as the interim Music Leader at Harbor United Methodist in Scituate, Kathy is thankful to have the opportunity to attend church and be involved in music ministry with her husband, Roy Gernhardt.  Kathy is always eager to worship God and simply loves to bring people into the presence of God, which she has done as a worship leader for almost twenty years.  Her passion is to serve and to draw people closer to God, encouraging them to become more whole individuals in community with each other. Roy and Kathy have two adult children, Isaiah and Hannah. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, pets, listening to books, music and podcasts, surfing the web, doing art once in a blue moon, going to libraries and imagining she is the type of person who will one day exercise or do yard work.  In the real world, she works full-time in IT and is thankful for God’s provisions and faithfulness to her.
