CONFIRMATION

CONFIRMATION

In the United Church of Christ, confirmation is the affirmation of baptism. Through baptism you enter the worldwide community of the Christian church. In confirmation you affirm this. Confirmation is just one step in a person’s faith journey. It is a time of exploration and deepening of faith. A confirmation program that celebrates questions and choices. It provides a safe place for people to explore the breadth of the Christian tradition, to ask questions and express their doubts, and to discover what they truly believe.

First Church's confirmation program is available for youth entering 7th grade and up. Generally the program is run from the fall through the spring with Confirmation Sunday being held on Pentecost.

The learning objectives include:
• Gaining greater understanding of what is the Bible.
• Growing in relationship with our Triune God.
• Learning more about what it means to be a community of faith.
• Learning more on how to live a Christian lifestyle.
• Learning about different faith traditions.
