SILENT AUCTION ITEMS
As summer begins to wind down, the Holiday Happenings fair is gearing up for another successful year! The Silent Auction committee is looking for your help in soliciting local companies. For those that have solicited donations from local businesses in the past and would like to continue or for those willing to call upon new places, please stop by our table in the Gates room after worship on Sunday Sept. 10th and Sunday Sept. 24th for solicitation documentation.
If you would prefer to pick up the necessary materials during the week, email Joanne or Diane and we can make arrangements. As we begin planning this year, we would like to track who is soliciting donations so we don’t duplicate efforts.
We are currently welcoming all donations that would create a bidding war such as sports tickets, condos, jewelry, artwork, photography, fine housewares, etc.
We plan to accept gift cards on an ongoing basis and can be brought to the office. We ask that “hard” items are donated the week before the fair. ALL items must be brought to the office by November 3, 2023.
Other Silent Auction volunteer options include:
- Thursday, November 9th afternoon set up
- Friday, November 10th AM
- Friday, November 10th PM
- Saturday, November 11th AM
- Saturday, November 11th PM
- Distributors of Silent Auction winners (various dates & times)
To sign up for a volunteer slot or for an additional questions please email Joanne at saundersjo@yahoo.com and Diane Ranney at windsong2093@gmail.com
APPLE PIE MAKING
Saturday, October 21 | 9:00am
Come help make apple pies to be frozen and sold at our Fair. No baking skills required!
The number of pies we will make will depend on the number of volunteers so please RSVP to Merry Sue Ahlgren msahlgren@msn.com so she can plan accordingly.
We will also be seeking donations for the supplies, so stay tuned!
OLD TYME COUNTRY STORE
We are so excited to start working on our “bake table” for the Fair this year and hope you will help us out with it.
The Olde Thyme Country Store has been a success in the past only because of the generosity of our Church family.
Some of the things that have sold well in the past are breads (we seem to need more banana and cranberry), cheesecake, a variety of pies (besides our “famous” frozen apple pies), candy and squares. Our jams and jellies completely sold out last year! Please don’t limit yourself to
this list-do you have a specialty? We would love to sell it at our table!
Kirby Holmes will once again coordinate our cookie baking. Our “cookie Walk” is very popular. People will buy a tin and have it filled with a variety of cookies. We will need MANY dozen cookies for this.
We also have an “International Table”. Maybe you make something that would fit into this category?
I know we have many new members and hope you will share your talents with us or would like to work with us at the Fair (we have a lot of fun doing it). Any questions? Please contact Betsy (bpottey@msn.com). Thanks,
Betsy Pottey
JEWELRY COLLECTION
Have jewelry kicking around you do not wear anymore? Or jewelry which is broken?
If so donate it to the Church Fair! Broken jewelry can be used for crafts or if gold and silver, cashed in, other jewelry will be sold at the fair.
All donations can be placed in jewelry box located on the self above the coat rack. THANK YOU!
