Weddings
If you've decided that you'd like to get married at the First Church of Christ in Sandwich, please call the church to schedule an appointment with one of the ministers: The Rev. Dr. William S. Geertz or our associate pastor, Dan Spacek. The ministers are open to participating with other ordained clergy in the marriage service. However, it is the policy of the church that a clergy staff member be present at all services performed within the sanctuary. Ideally, advance notice of one year is appreciated when possible, and it is also recommended that couples participate in premarital counseling sessions as mutually agreed. All church fees and the marriage license must be given to the officiating minister at the wedding rehearsal.
The organist of First Church, Maggie Ribb, is available to play for weddings at First Church. If she is unavailable, she will make arrangements for a substitute or make recommendations for someone else to play. Special music requests, soloists, and other instrumentalists must be planned in consultation with her and one of the ministers and approved by them. Additional fees may apply for special music, soloists and rehearsals.
